Dr. Andrew Grider, Principal

Welcome to Stafford Middle School. We are blessed to have wonderful staff members, students, and families. At SMS we believe that working together is the key to our students’ success. With over 30 years of experience in education and the majority of that time in middle schools, I recognize that it takes a team of people, staff members and families, to help students reach their full potential. Dr. Shelly Waller, Assistant Principal

Dr. Shelly Waller serves as Assistant Principal at Stafford Middle School, home of the Spartans. With a strong background in both classroom teaching and instructional technology, Dr. Waller brings a passion for innovative teaching and student-centered learning to her role. She began her career as an elementary teacher and went on to serve for five years as an Instructional Technology Resource Teacher and Instructional Technology Coach, supporting teachers through workshops, co-teaching, and collaborative projects focused on effective technology integration.

Dr. Waller holds a Bachelor of Science in Biology and Sociology and a Master of Education from the University of Mary Washington. She also earned a Doctorate of Education in Curriculum, Instruction, and Leadership from Walden University. At Stafford Middle, Dr. Waller is committed to fostering a positive, engaging learning environment that empowers every Spartan to grow and thrive.

Dr. Virginia Wright, Assistant Principal

Dr. Virginia Wright joins Stafford Middle School as the new Assistant Principal. She brings a wealth of experience to the role, having previously served as Assistant Principal at Brooke Point High School. Dr. Wright holds a Bachelor’s in Management and a Master’s in Business Leadership from Upper Iowa University, along with an Education Specialist degree and a Doctorate in Educational Leadership from Argosy University.

Throughout her career, Dr. Wright has taught Culinary Arts, Family & Consumer Sciences, and Special Education. She has also served as an FCCLA Advisor, Step Team Sponsor, and coach for several athletic teams including cross country, golf, track & field, and flag football. Dr. Wright is dedicated to supporting student success and fostering a strong, inclusive Spartan community. Stafford Middle is excited to welcome her leadership and passion to the Spartan family.
